Looks Like Andy Haydon is Finally Getting Involved

I have been pretty hard on Mr. Haydon over the past couple of months because I was getting the impression that he was running in this campaign on his name alone. I felt it was an insult to the other candidates in this election that have been working their guts out to try and garner as much support as they can. Now it appears that he is getting more involved and that is a good thing. First I saw some signs going up around Barrhaven and then it came to my attention thanks to my friends at the Hall Monitor that he has a website.

Now don't get me wrong I still think he is the wrong man for the job and the fact that he fell asleep at two Community Association meetings during this campaign has nothing to do with it. Fact is I think he is out of touch with the young families in Ward 22 and there are candidates that are better suited to represent them. Tanya Thompson seems to have all the qualities that we need in a councillor and she has community ties like no other in this slate of candidates and a proven track record on community initiatives. I have seen her at a couple of debates and she seems to be very informed when answering questions and genuinely connects with the residents.

There are too many Liberals in this city council and for the sake of the City we need to get rid of as many of them as possible. That is why we should not elect Steve Desroches unless we want to get more of the same old crap coming from City Hall. If Munter happens to win this election we need as many like minded councillors to drive the agenda of the city for the next four years and god help us if we don't.

Too many Liberals at City Hall? Perhaps you should look into the past candidacies of Tanya Thompson's campaign manager, Rod Vanier.

Backed by a Liberal-odds are you're getting what they produce. Haydon deserves a chance, he might just be able to voice the issues that matter to your young family.

Actually you are way off on Tanya and I don't know where you are getting your information. Tanya's campaign manager is Louise Leafloor. Rod Vanier does support her though however, as does Norm MacDonald who is a well known conservative. Tanya has a broad base of support and is not associated with any particular party.

There are Liberals in this race that is for sure, Smilin' Steve, Don Dransfield and from everyone I hear talking about him Andy Haydon. You are hitchen your wagon to the wrong horse in this race in my opinion. He can't even manage to stay awake for a community association meeting, how the hell will he be able to keep focused during something like budget deliberations.

Right. Rumours spread about a great man and civic leader by disrespectful woman, your friend tanya. Even so, Mr. Haydon could run circles around Tanya Thompson, even if he WAS asleep! Planning a fun community party does not qualify this Thompson woman to represent this rapidly growing ward. Nor do being a home caregiver or part time Staples store supervisor! You just have to laugh at the "entrepreneur" and "manager at a multi-national corporation" references on her brochure- talk about lying on your resume!!

I heard the same things that the above noted commentor mentioned. I hear Tanya has grossly over exagerated her business and corporate experience. This is the type of crap that people are sick of; candidates running for public office that stretch the truth of their true crudentials to get a $75K/ year job.

Tanya would be a disaster for our ward at a time when we need experience. Real experience. And Rod VANIER has been associated to this so-called conservative candidate.

I guess if she was the head of a business improvement area where her mother gives money from her office budget she would be more glamourous. There are a lot of people in Barrhaven that are unqualified for certain positions but Tanya is not one of them. I don't know why you would accuse her of spreading rumors about Mr. Haydon. There are a lot of shifty things going on in this campaign and it is hard to pick the truth out of a lot of it.

As for the so called rumors about Andy Haydon falling asleep at community association meetings, I was there and saw it with my own eyes. Don't tell me about being disrespectful, this is serious business and when you put your name on that balot you had better be prepared to take the good with the bad.
